London South Bank University (LSBU) has officially launched two new advice services for Croydon and Southwark businesses with the support of White Label. Two events were held, one at the Croydon Campus for the launch of Solutionise and the Help to Grow programme and the other event was at the Southwark campus.
LSBU’s Southwark campus in Elephant and Castle, established in 1892, has already supported hundreds of businesses, bridging the gap between education and employers and has now expanded that by launching the services at its newly established Croydon campus this year. The services will enable SME business leaders to strengthen and grow their organisations, offer unrivalled networking opportunities and provide training from top business leaders.
The services are:
- Solutionise, a free drop-in service based at LSBU Croydon, runs every Friday from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm, offering advice for Croydon businesses on IT, legal, engineering and business management solutions. Advice will be provided by trained student advisors and LSBU industry experts.
- Help to Grow is a government-funded business support initiative that enables industry experts from LSBU’s Business School to run 12-week intensive support programmes to develop Financial Management, Leadership, Digital, Business Planning and Employee Engagement skills.
The White Label team supported the LSBU Business team’s launch event through event support, marketing efforts and external communications. The event team created an itinerary and designed branding assets which were used around the venue, additionally, arranged refreshments and entertainment. The marketing team then engaged the community and local stakeholders with messaging, socials and weekly mailers curating an influential guest list for the date. The communications team then shouted about the success of the event and the launch of the services post-event to keep the interest soaring.
After the launch, the combined campus figures, show the number of businesses supported by the Help to Grow programme run by London South Bank University (LSBU) has increased by 73% over the past seven months (from 156 in August 2022 to 270 in March 2023).
Julie Leggatt, Associate Director at White Label said: “The events brought together educational experts, industry leaders, and local entrepreneurs. The energy and enthusiasm in the room proved how crucial it is to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
“The services will help local areas retain talent allowing them to grow their local economies, offer students real-world experience creating a complete educational experience, and keep entrepreneurs in touch with the ever-changing world through trends and tools to support their ventures.
“We are thrilled to support the creation of a collaborative environment, fostering innovation through knowledge and experience sharing, bringing positivity and growth to the region.”
