White Label supports Croydon’s cross-cultural programme launch as London Borough of Culture 2023

London Borough of Croydon unveiled highlights of the striking projects that will showcase the very best of Croydon’s diverse and dynamic home-grown talent in its year as The Mayor of London’s London Borough of Culture.

The launch event for Croydon’s cultural programme ‘This is Croydon’, marks a year of celebration from April 2023 until March 2024, putting Croydon’s unique identity, diverse communities, heritage, culture and creativity front and centre.

White Label worked with Croydon’s cultural steering committee, alongside event suppliers, to project manage the event logistics and on-site delivery, as well as supporting the programme’s visual identity with a number of printed assets across the venue, whilst our marketing and comms team lead the event’s social media coverage.

The reveal of the programme for Croydon London Borough of Culture, brought together over 230 guests, including stakeholders, Croydon’s diverse talent and communities – with welcoming addresses from Justine Simons OBE, Deputy Mayor for Culture and creative industries and Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon. The event was hosted by The BRIT School students Zach and Ame.

Of Croydon’s appointment as London Borough of Culture Justine Simons remarked: “Working together with tenacity and determination, [Croydon] have put together a year bursting with creativity with something for everyone. And where Londoners can experience culture right on their doorstep, which is what London Borough of Culture is all about.

“This is Croydon will bring people together. There will be joy, there will be fun, there will be beautiful, shared experiences, and there’ll be many new friendships along the way. I know it will leave a legacy for generations to come”.

The event featured performances from Club Soda DJs, Vogue Ballroom Dancers, London Mozart Players together with Subrang Arts, a performance from students from The BRIT School (hosts Zach and Ame, performers Stanley, Julia, Galia, Nathan, Tia and Abi) and hip hop dance troop, BirdGang.
