Businesses in Bexley and Southwark have celebrated their achievements at virtual awards ceremonies – hosted live by White Label.
The Bexley Business Excellence Awards took place on Wednesday 18 November and the Southwark Business Excellence Awards took place on Thursday 26 November.
The awards ceremonies, hosted over Zoom, saw a combined 400 hopefuls, friends, families and colleagues attend across both evenings. And despite not having the glitz and glamour of a traditional gala dinner, all sponsors, judges and guests still dressed up in their best dinner jackets and dresses!
Each evening was hosted by award-winning broadcaster Fayon Dixon and magic duo Kane & Able wowed guests with a live magic show.
In Bexley, a total of 12 categories were announced on the night, with The Elephant Pub & Restaurant taking home three awards, including Bexley Business of the Year.
Buddhika Hemachandra, Director of The Elephant Pub & Restaurant, said: “This award win will help us to take our business to the next level and promote The Elephant more to help attract new customers. We’re already thinking about exciting plans for next year and are looking forward to welcoming customers back safely in the restaurant when we can.

In Southwark, Peace Ballers won Southwark Business of the Year, which was announced at the end of a night where 10 other categories were announced.
Peace Ballers CEO Zion Zachary, who was also named Entrepreneur of the Year, said: “I am personally very touched to have been recognised as a winner, and am totally blown away. This really has been an amazing year for us. We are in the events sector, and had to shut down, but we are problem-solvers so put our efforts into creating our online events solution.
“I didn’t launch my own business when I was younger as I wanted to be ready, and I have learned so much. I am elated by the recognition.”
