Scale, strength and ambition of UK capital opportunities showcased at EXPO REAL 2025

The scale, strength, and ambition of the UK’s capital investment offer took centre stage at EXPO REAL 2025 through UK Cities & Partners (UKCAP), reinforcing a powerful message – the UK is open, investable, and ready for partnership.

Led by White Label, UKCAP is a powerful collaboration of city leaders, investors, and advisors who have joined together to attract capital investment for the nation’s most exciting investment propositions. The impressive showcase of opportunities at EXPO REAL, Europe’s leading real estate event in Munich (6–8 October), included Forth Yards in Newcastle, Camden Film Quarter in London and major opportunities across Liverpool, Southampton and Hertfordshire.

Jenny Hartley MBE, Assistant Director of Capital Investment and Growth at Newcastle City Council, shared her views on the programme’s importance: “EXPO REAL is a really important marketplace for us. It allows us to showcase Newcastle’s exceptional development opportunities on a global stage.

“Collaboration has never been more important – working alongside cities like London, Liverpool, and Manchester, we’re putting the UK on the map as an investment powerhouse.”

Katharine Glass, Director, White Label, said: “UKCAP came about after White Label looked at EXPO REAL and asked why no-one from the UK was attending. There was no strong UK presence, no joined up presence and we realised this was a missed opportunity in terms of promoting the great place that the UK is, and also the opportunities for investment and development of the UK offer.”

In the first instance, White Label coordinated the various stakeholders – city/regional authorities, investors, private firms, government, advisors – under the UKCAP brand.

Their presence at EXPO REAL was heavily marketed ahead of the event including through the Investment Prospectus which featured every opportunity. Click here to read.

White Label designed the UKCAP stand branding as well as greeting visitors to it throughout the event, and organising partner appointments. Insightful panels, focused roundtables, and a packed investor spotlight session, explored how the UK can unlock the next wave of global investment. They included:

  • Opening Panel – The Macro-Economic Landscape: framed the UK’s investment narrative within global trends, and explored short- and mid-term outlooks as the UK heads toward 2026 and beyond.
  • A presentation of the investment opportunities across the UK’s city regions hosted by Real Asset Mediain partnership with UKCAP and Real FDI.
  • Bidwells Roundtable – What UK Innovation Districts Need Next: Senior stakeholders from Newcastle, Hertfordshire, Liverpool, and London joined investors and developers to discuss how to accelerate the growth of innovation districts.
  • Flagship Panel – Global Capital, Local Impact: In partnership with Holland Metropole, INREV, ULI Europe, and AFIRE, leaders from Oxford Properties, Nuveen Global, Bouwinvest, and Legal & General examined how institutional capital from APAC and North America can drive regeneration across the UK and Europe.
  • Science & Innovation Panel – The UK Investment Pavilion: A lively discussion on how the UK’s world-class research ecosystems and science clusters led by partnerships such as Oxford–Cambridge and Innovation Greater Manchester, are reshaping regional economies and fuelling demand for next-generation workspaces, labs, and integrated living environments,
  • Closed Roundtables: Invited frank discussion on key themes including macro-economics, housing, data centres & AI growth, and unlocking regional strengths.

Networking was a central focus, too. A private investor dinner in central Munich brought together senior leaders from across cities, regions, government, and global investment for high-level relationship building, while a UK/EU networking reception on the UK Investment Pavilion extended those conversations in a more informal setting.

White Label also covered news from the event across social media and created a range of showcasing reels and videos. You can watch the highlights from the event here.
