Innovative new awards build on strong awards programme

White Label has delivered the inaugural Sutton Women Mean Business awards.

Established by Successful Sutton BID with the support of the London Borough of Sutton and in association with headline sponsor Willmott Dixon, the awards aimed to recognise the many hard-working women – often unsung heroes – in the borough and was deemed a huge success.

“It was an incredibly worthwhile event for Willmott Dixon. We heard some truly wonderful and inspirational stories on what was a fantastic awards evening. I would like to commend you on the great food, organisation and service that we received. We all had a great evening and it was a pleasure supporting this event.”  Headline sponsor – Sarah Mckinnell, senior bid manager, Willmott Dixon

“It was a fantastic evening, and so amazing to win and be recognised by your peers. I think the Awards are great – anything that celebrates and inspires women and the great things we are doing is fantastic.”  Winner – Caroline Odogwu, She Is You UK

This follows on from the continuing growth in White Label’s business awards calendar with Business Excellence Awards in Southwark, Croydon, Kingston and Bexley also taking place throughout the year. With the inaugural Brent Business Excellence Awards to be launched later this year.

Each programme celebrates the success of businesses across the boroughs in categories such as: Best New Start Up, Best Business for Customer Service, Best Employer, Commitment to the Community, Entrepreneur of the Year, Business of the Year and many more.

With hundreds of businesses attending each of the ceremony events, the gala dinners are planned meticulously by White Label’s events team to ensure that everyone has a great evening, whether they are celebrating a win or not.

The events have become an essential part of the local business calendar and have been recognised for helping to celebrate businesses across London.

“The Awards Gala was a great evening and it was inspiring to learn more about the numerous small, and not so small fantastic businesses in the borough.   We are certainly keen to support again next year.”   Sponsor – Russell Beresford, Landsec

“We were all so impressed with the event itself – it was really impressive looking, really slick, with great service, great hosting and entertainment, and the food was amazing. The brochure was excellent too!”  Winner – Nick Harrison, Waterman Group

“Nights like this show how great Croydon’s vibrant business community is. The awards are a fantastic celebration of our borough’s businesses and their staff who work so hard, and just like Croydon, the awards get bigger and better every year. I already can’t wait for next year!” Councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed, cabinet member for economy & jobs, London Borough of Croydon

“It’s been a really inspiring evening. Croydon is a brilliant business community to be part of, and you can feel how passionate everybody is – it’s easy to be ambitious and get involved when you’re surrounded by other people who want to make things happen.”   Winner – Eva Poliszczuk, Sussex Innovation Centre
