Hertfordshire is powering ahead with its economic recovery from COVID-19 and White Label has been proud to support these efforts with consultation webinars and a conference.
Skills and sustainability are at the heart of the ambition led by Hertfordshire County Council and Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to support business and residents out of the pandemic.
White Label has facilitated two webinars so far this year as part of the consultation process for the reshaping of the Skills and Employment Strategy to provide a route-map for recovery and sustainable growth up to 2024.
More than 100 stakeholders attended each webinar in January and February which featured presentations, break-out rooms, Q&As and polls on different themes. The events discussed ideas on how to move the economy forward and promoted an understanding of the current skills and labour market, recognising that some groups such as school leavers and the BAME community were disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
Cllr David Williams, Leader of Hertfordshire County Council, said: “With the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic likely to be felt in the county for some time, it is more important than ever that we continue to work together to address these challenges in order to accelerate Hertfordshire’s economic recovery.
“The development of the third edition of the Hertfordshire Skills and Employment Strategy, supported by the recovery plan, Unlocking Hertfordshire, supports our commitment to provide a clear road map for how we can ensure the county’s workforce has the right skills to encourage sustained economic growth for years to come.”

Last November, White Label also worked with the LEP and its partners BRE Group and Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, to run the virtual, interactive Opportunity Hertfordshire: Building a Sustainable Future conference for the construction industry.
Minister for Business and Industry Nadhim Zahawi MP and Gillian Charlesworth, CEO at BRE Group, were keynote speakers, and lively interactive panels discussed key themes.
As the race to net zero accelerates and the construction industry faces critical challenges, the event showcased how Hertfordshire’s leading organisations are bringing together new investment, commercial space and skills provision as a unique opportunity for smart construction.
Mark Bretton, Chair of the Hertfordshire LEP and LEP Network, said: “It’s clear for all of the interactions here that we’re blessed in Hertfordshire with a strong base of successful construction and supply chain companies who are leading the way in making the challenge of net zero.
