Heathrow Airport’s 25th Anniversary Business Summit drew over 300 SMEs eager to engage with the airport’s supply chain, supporting its sustainability goals.
Themed ‘Let’s Do Business,’ the event, facilitated by White Label, aimed to develop partnerships between SMEs, larger contractors, and the airport, boosting local economic growth. With 45 businesses showcasing and 250 delegates present, it offered prime networking and business opportunities.
The event marked the inaugural public address by Heathrow’s new CEO, Thomas Woldbye, who urged SMEs to “embrace the opportunity”. Thomas highlighted SMEs’ 40% presence in the airport’s supply chain, emphasising the fruitful collaboration between Heathrow and small businesses, essential for the local community.
Lord David Blunkett, Chair of Heathrow Sustainable Economic Growth Taskforce, spoke at the event, emphasising the “real dynamic and commitment” to inclusive economic growth at the airport, as well as its commitment to “getting people to work together” making it easier for those who “currently struggle to know what kind of opportunities exist for their business.”
