Fun and festivities as record numbers attend Croydon Food and Music Festival

The long-awaited return of Croydon Food & Music Festival was met with record numbers of locals and visitors, who descended on the town centre for a day of fun, food and festivities.

The event is delivered by White Label, organised by South Croydon Business Association, and sponsored by London Square.

Traders up and down South End delighted tastebuds with the vibrant flavours of South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Thirsts were quenched by Street Cocktails, Playground Cocktail Bar, Love Punch, Single or Double Events, and local brewery Cronx.

Those with a sweet tooth were thoroughly catered for with a selection of delicious ice cream, churros, and fresh baked treats on offer.

More than 14,000 festivalgoers shared in the action this year, sampling the best of the borough and enjoying some delicious refreshments, live entertainment, and music from incredible local talent.

Performers included Croydon’s very own BRIT School who delivered an amazing flash mob-style routine that wowed crowds, as well as local legends Tenyson, and the amazingly talented guitar students from Own a Chord.

When families weren’t getting down to the music on the main stage they were revelling in the slapstick entertainment from Covent Nick and Bumbulum the Fool, whose unicycle and juggling antics drew big laughs.

Croydon’s Executive Mayor Jason Perry was also in attendance and celebrated the return of the festival: “It’s great to see the Croydon Food & Music Festival back again – absolutely buzzing on a beautiful sunny day.

“This really is the best of Croydon.”

We’re so glad to have been able to bring back one of South London’s biggest community events, and we’re ready to go again in 2023. Watch this space.
