The inaugural Sutton Women Mean Business Awards in association with Willmott Dixon is proud to announce its first ever shortlist of finalists.*
The exciting new awards programme to celebrate the achievements of women working in the borough, is managed by White Label Events on behalf of founders Successful Sutton BID and Sutton Council.
Together with sponsors, who participated in the next round of judging on Wednesday, 17th July, have paid tribute to the high number and calibre of entrants across all nine categories. (*The full shortlist finalists can be viewed here: www.suttonwomenmeanbusiness.co.uk)

Patricia Park, BID Manager of awards partner Successful Sutton BID (Business Improvement District), said: “The sheer number of entries we received and the quality of the shortlist that has been drawn up from it in this inaugural year is the most important thing for me.
“It is also wonderful to have received so many submissions from women working in both the commercial and the public sectors, as well as from those in companies that are part of the Successful Sutton BID district. I am really proud of the awards and excited to see who wins each category.”
Each of the shortlisted entrants were scheduled to undergo 20-minute interviews with independent panels of judges at Carshalton College.
The winners, along with the overall Businesswoman of the Year, will be exclusively revealed at a glittering awards ceremony at the end of September (Details to be announced shortly).
Andy Pritchard, Construction Manager, of lead sponsor Willmott Dixon commented: “We are delighted that there has been such a large number of high calibre entries in the first year of the Sutton Women Mean Business Awards. Willmott Dixon is pleased to support this awards programme because it is important for women to be recognised for their achievements. We look forward to celebrating their success later this year.”

The Sutton WMB Awards launched to recognise the achievements of all women working in Sutton, whether they are corporate leaders managing businesses, young rising-star entrepreneurs, or one or our vital front-line service professionals. They were launched at Sutton Point on International Women’s Day last March.
Councillor Jayne McCoy, Deputy Leader of Sutton Council, the awards co-founding partner, said: “These awards are a celebration of the success of entrepreneurial and leading women across the borough. Sutton Council is ambitious for the borough and the role all women can play in our shared success. We’re very proud to be supporting the awards and look forward to celebrating even more successful women next year.”
The organisers, partners and sponsors would like to congratulate all the entrants, along with our distinguished judges, for participating in these inaugural awards, and wish the shortlisted finalists the very best of luck.
