Develop Croydon: Celebrating a year of impact, partnership and progress

Develop Croydon, White Label’s not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), is proud to reflect on another impactful year championing regeneration, investment and opportunity in one of London’s most ambitious boroughs as it launches its annual report for 2024.

From landmark developments and a record-breaking annual conference to highly attended investor tours and growing media reach, the momentum behind Croydon’s renewal is unmistakable.

At the heart of 2024’s achievements was the 15th annual Develop Croydon Conference, titled “Fresh Perspectives”, which brought together over 300 stakeholders from across the UK to explore Croydon’s future. The event featured immersive sessions, walking tours, and keynote speeches from figures including Deputy Mayor for Business Howard Dawber and London Gatwick’s Stephanie Wear. Fiona Fletcher-Smith of L&Q captured the event’s spirit best, stating:

“I feel the buzz is back in Croydon. I think we lost it a bit, but it now feels like there’s a lot happening and a lot of goodwill to make good things happen.”

Develop Croydon also hosted two sold-out Investor Tours, giving developers, investors and local leaders a chance to explore major regeneration sites, including 69 Park Lane, Croydon College, and the landmark Enclave: Croydon co-living scheme. The tours provided firsthand insight into Croydon’s changing skyline and the scale of development opportunity.

2024 saw major steps in Croydon’s transformation:

  • 817 homes delivered at Enclave: Croydon

The Forum’s commitment to high-quality place marketing also remained strong, with two issues of Croydon News, over 86,000 website views, and a combined 650+ new followers on LinkedIn and Instagram.

The Develop Croydon Forum continues to operate with strong governance and financial prudence. In 2024, 94% of income came from loyal partner membership. The organisation maintained a tight balance sheet while delivering high-value events and communications throughout the year.

With transformative projects underway, community engagement deepening, and new partners joining the journey, 2025 promises to be another defining year for Croydon. As Develop Croydon Chair Richard Plant put it:

“The change in the skyline and quality of buildings is testament to the regeneration. As we look to 2025, we do so with optimism, pride, and determination to keep pushing Croydon forward.”
