In a culmination of Croydon’s year as London Borough of Culture, an upcoming careers event at Braithwaite Hall on Wednesday 29 May will aim to support budding creative freelancers, fostering a lasting impact and cultural legacy for the borough.
The event will mark the conclusion of Croydon’s year-long celebration of its cultural and creative community, following its recognition as the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture for 2023-2024.
Titled ‘Power Your Freelance Journey’, the event will provide essential resources, guidance, and networking opportunities for aspiring freelancers, ensuring that the momentum gained throughout the Borough of Culture year translates into tangible opportunities for the borough’s cultural community.
With a focus on young creatives aged 18 to 25, while welcoming participants of all ages, the event will offer insights from successful freelance professionals, workshops on branding and financial management, and a platform for networking with industry experts. Additionally, the event will equip attendees with knowledge on tools and resources that can be accessed locally, as well as the skills needed to become a self-sustaining freelancer.
