“The support we have received from White Label in shaping the AEZ and supporting the engagement with the many partners involved in this initiative has enabled the development and success of the Gatwick Region Airport Economic Zone. We are proud that this has put the region’s key stakeholders in a position where we can now all work together with one voice to promote the region, driving inward investment and positioning it as an attractive place to live, work and invest.”

The Gatwick Region: A long-term regional collaboration driving sustainable growth

It all began with a question: How can the Gatwick region – home to a major international airport and a diverse business ecosystem with significant high growth, high-value clusters – present a compelling, unified case for inward investment?

The journey started in 2021 when London Gatwick commissioned a report on Airport Economic Zones (AEZs) from the Coast to Capital (C2C) Local Enterprise Partnership. Simultaneously C2C also funded The Gatwick Diamond Initiative to develop a regionally endorsed strategic business case for an inward investment delivery model.

Those two initial pieces of research – both focused around the creation of a shared vision for accelerating sustainable economic growth across one of the UK’s most dynamic yet complex regions – laid the foundations for London Gatwick to take the lead at its Economic Summit in 2022 in developing a regional collaboration which would drive sustainable growth.

The summit brought together senior leaders from local and central government, major businesses, and infrastructure providers for high-level discussions focused on unlocking the region’s potential and highlighting London Gatwick’s role as a partner and advocate for a thriving and resilient local economy.

Insights from summits directly informed the creation of the Gatwick Region Airport Economic Zone (AEZ) – a regionally led platform formally launched by London Gatwick in 2025 to showcase the area’s unique strengths.

White Label has played a pivotal role in shaping the AEZ, with our Director Katharine Glass serving as lead consultant to the Taskforce, supporting the definition of its value proposition, messaging, and stakeholder engagement strategy. Our in-house design studio created the AEZ’s brand and visual identity, as well as the dedicated website, gatwickregionatukreiif.com – bringing the platform to life visually and digitally to ensure a clear, cohesive and professional presence for the region.

As the AEZ Taskforce builds momentum and formal governance structures take shape, White Label continues to provide strategic counsel – developing core narratives and managing key relationships including leading the region’s presence at UKREiiF where we bring together a powerful public-private coalition to speak with one voice.

Through a dedicated physical stand, curated regional fringe events, and strategic speaker placements, we’ve helped position the region as a compelling and unified investment proposition. Crucially, we also lead on the commercial delivery – securing sponsorship and partner contributions to make the region’s presence at UKREiiF possible, ensuring it is both high-impact and financially sustainable.

For us, this is more than a project. It’s a long-held ambition to bring the Gatwick region together, build lasting value, and champion its story on a national stage.
