White Label client Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (EM3 LEP) hit the headlines in November with the announcement the government had chosen its region as one of only seven places in the UK to receive ‘Space Hub’ status.
The announcement, which came with funding to boost EM3’s already successful space cluster, saw extensive coverage in local, national and trade press and follows a year-long campaign to position the LEP region as a leader in the development of space technology.
The EM3 network of space and satellite businesses is currently valued at £9billion and has more than 180 companies engaged in high-tech innovative work, employing more than 3,000 local people.
Last year, White Label supported the launch of EM3’s space strategy, pulling together an extensive database of contacts, producing a bespoke newsletter, social media campaign, gaining trade press coverage, speaker opportunities, and producing marketing materials for their delegation at the UK Space Conference. The work has started to pay dividends with the UK’s new national team in space – Athena – now launched, and with three of its four key players based in the EM3 area.
In addition, the industry trade association, UKSpace, relocated to the area in early 2020. Last month NanoAvionics, a leading nanosatellite manufacturer and mission integrator, thanked EM3 for its support in setting up its new satellite factory in one of EM3’s Enterprise Zones.
