LAST MILE Conference to return in October for its fourth consecutive year

The London and South East Manufacturing, Industrial, and Logistics Conference (LAST MILE) is returning for its fourth year in 2024 – with the flagship event taking place on Thursday, 17 October.

BAFTA Piccadilly will once again be the venue for the industry-leading fixture which was attended by more than 200 experts from the industrial sector in 2023.

Held in partnership with Bridge Industrial and GLi, the event was led by White Label. We secured speakers and set topics for keynotes and debates based on our discussions with industry leaders and sponsors.

Finding the venue, facilitating networking, hosting a breakfast, lunch, afternoon drinks reception and ensuring the smooth running of the day, was all part of the programme for the White Label team, too.

Topics looked at market forces, retrofitting/rebuilding, supporting communities to support industrial development, energy supplies and ultra-urban development.

Speakers for 2023 include Trudy Revell, development director, KSP (representing GLi); Councillor Helen Dennis, cabinet member for new homes and sustainable development, Southwark Council; Paul Hanley, director, Graftongate; Chris Davies, founder of Harvest London, Chris Smedley, chief executive of Landways and Le Brun, director, PATRIZIA.

London’s Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills, Jules Pipe, delivered the closing keynote, and hailed the importance of the industrial sector, saying: “Industrial is absolutely crucial for the functioning of London…and its loss is a huge concern for me, the mayor and the team at the Greater London Authority (GLA).

He added: “The GLA needs to work with you, with everyone that has an interest in the industrial and logistics sector, to ensure that local master plans and individual development proposals recognise the strategic role of industrial land for capital and really promote its intensification and co-location wherever that can work.”
