What we were asked to do
As part of its work for Stanhope Schroders encouraging meanwhile use of a new broadwalk from East Croydon station through what will become the Ruskin Square development, White Label was tasked with organising a series of innovative and exciting events which would draw in the crowds to enjoy the space. The activities that we organise are collated under four generic headings, one of which is 'Platform Sports'.
How we did it
In the lead up to the Pearl Izumi Cycle Tour's first year in Croydon we planned three days of cycling activity in the space aimed at several audiences including families, town centre office workers and keen cyclists. We brought several different activities to Platform over the three days. One popular activity was the Rollapaluza corporate cycle challenge which saw local companies competing on stationary bikes. We also had a BMX trial track at Platform and pedal powered smoothie making. The event was supported by London Borough of Croydon, Croydon Heart Town and Decathlon.
