Summer of Fun at Platform

Visitors to Croydon over the summer will enjoy a summer of Fun at Schroders and Stanhope's new open-air events space at the Ruskin Square development in Croydon, as part of its innovative meanwhile ues programme developed and delivered by White Label.

Topping the entertainment will be a big screen TV to watch Andy Murray live at Wimbledon and two free-to-play table tennis tables courtesy of Table Tennis England's Ping! Challenge.

The season launched with the hugely successful three-day 'On Your Bike' event, a free Platform, Ruskin Square collaboration in association with London Borough of Croydon, Croydon Heart Town, Decathlon sports and Urban Smoothie Bikes. Crowds enjoyed Rollapaluza racing, BMX trials and bike workshops at Platform, setting the stage for Tuesday's Pearl Izumi Tour Series which brought Britain's top cyclists to Croydon.

But that's just the start of a great summer at Platform. Throughout June, July and August, come along to:

  • Watch Wimbledon live - on Platform's big screen TV for 2 weeks from June 29th
  • Play Ping! Challenge table tennis - on free-to-play ping pong tables from June 25th
  • Hear top class live music – with the new Buskin' Ruskin' series of gigs
  • Enjoy fab street food - every Thursday at Platform's famous World Food Market
  • Laze on the Platform Beach – pull up a deckchair on our real sand beach!

With table tennis enjoying a huge revival, its anticipated there will be a big rush to play on the two tables being set up for the summer at Platform, courtesy of Ping! As part of the free street ping pong festival organised by Croydon Council and Table Tennis England, it's sure to be a summer hit.

Bats and balls will be available free of charge and Ping! Table tennis professionals will be on hand most Thursday lunchtimes to stage matches in the free-to-enter Ping! Challenge – visit www.pingcroydon.co.uk for more information.

Tennis fans can enjoy Andy Murray challenge the world's best, live on Platform's big screen TV for the entire Wimbledon fortnight, starting from June 29. Relax in the Platform deckchairs and catch the drama unfolding live on the big screen.

The Buskin' Ruskin' series of live music gigs, is part of the Platform's new busking initiative, featuring musicians and artistes performing throughout the summer.
