Croydon Business Excellence Awards returns for 2017

The Croydon Business Excellence Awards is set to return for 2017 with an exciting new opportunity to celebrate our vibrant business community's successes and achievements.

Launching in March, the Awards will again be held in association with Gatwick Airport, with several other sponsors, including Croydon Chamber of Commerce, returning for the new year.

Plans for the 2017 event are hush-hush but organisers White Label promise a few new surprises for this year's awards which will culminate in a glittering black-tie gala dinner and awards ceremony next October.

Annabel Fogden, General Manager of Croydon Chamber of Commerce urged local businesses to enter the 2017 Awards. "These Awards offer companies, from major corporates to start-ups, an excellent opportunity to celebrate business achievement," said Ms Fogden. "They will also raise the profile of Croydon, which is enjoying unprecedented growth, across the wider business community. We're looking forward to encouraging as many of our members as possible to enter."

The cream of Croydon's business community came together for the 2016 party of the year at the Grand Sapphire, hosted by broadcaster and journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer.

More than 60 of Croydon's best companies made the shortlist for the 2016 Awards across 15 hotly contested business categories. The overall Business of the Year was Hewitts of Croydon, who were celebrating their 150th anniversary in the borough.

The awards ceremony featured a charity auction presented by Crystal Palace Football Club legend John Salako which raised around £10,000 for the chosen charities of the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Wayne Trakas-Lawlor.

As well as Gatwick Airport, the awards partners for 2016 were Allianz Global Assistance, Croydon Advertiser, Croydon Chamber of Commerce, Croydon Council, Croydon Partnership, Handelsbanken, Keltbray, Platinum business magazine, StartUp Croydon, Sussex Innovation Croydon and Wing Yip.
