The 2016 search for Croydon's most successful and innovative businesses – Croydon Business Excellence Awards - will launch at a glittering ceremony in Impact House on Thursday, 10th March.
This year's theme - Reach New Heights – is designed to inspire local firms to aim high and showcase their successes and achievements at the area's premier business event.
Last year's inaugural awards attracted hundreds of entries from a wide range of local companies, and culminated in a hugely successful glittering black-tie Gala Dinner and Charity Ball to celebrate the winners, including Business of the Year, The Rise Gallery.
This year's awards ceremony on 6th October, will once more be a hot ticket for Croydon's thriving and ambitious business community.
Croydon Councillor Toni Letts, the Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said the local authority was once again "delighted to be a major sponsor" of the awards.
She said: "Croydon is a primary business centre in the south east and London's most ambitious and enterprising borough, with 14,815* firms currently operating here (*Office of National Statistics, 2015).
"Supporting the Awards demonstrates Croydon's commitment to our small business community, which is the backbone of our local economy. So I do hope that as many businesses as possible will enter these prestigious awards."
The 2016 Awards are sponsored by The London Borough of Croydon, Allianz Global Assistance, Croydon Business Venture, Croydon Chamber of Commerce, Sussex Innovation Centre, Wing Yip, media partner The Croydon Advertiser and launch venue sponsor, Inspired Homes, who are developing 197 apartments at Impact House in central Croydon.
"These Awards showcase the great range of expertise and skill within our business community and we're proud to be supporting this event again," said Annabel Fogden, General Manager of sponsors Croydon Chamber of Commerce.
"We will be encouraging as many of our members to enter as possible as it offers businesses as an excellent opportunity to shine and have their achievements recognized."
And David Robinson, chairman of Croydon Business Venture, added: "As the accredited Enterprise Agency for Croydon, supporting start-ups and entrepreneurs is what we are all about so we are delighted to once again be sponsoring the Best New Business category.
"The standard of entries last year were testament to those who put a huge amount of energy and commitment into setting up in business."
"As we know from the start-ups in our care at Weatherill House Business Centre, setting up in business is incredibly demanding but it can also be hugely rewarding and Croydon Business Venture is passionate about providing the support new businesses need."
The Croydon Business Excellence Awards are organised by White Label Creative. Managing Director Katharine Glass commented: "The achievements of all the winning and commended businesses are key to the growth of Croydon and we hope companies will once again enter the Awards to showcase their hard work and successes."
Commenting on behalf of Inspired Homes, sponsors of launch venue Impact House, Sandy Kenny said: The development of Croydon proceeds at great pace, drawing on the drive and contribution of regional and local business, the Council and many other stakeholders. The regeneration that this combined effort has enabled represents a positive role model for other urban centres. Inspired Homes are pleased to be part of that process, and we are delighted to be able to host the launch of the 2016 Croydon Business Excellence Awards in Impact House – one of our flagship developments and one of Croydon's landmark buildings. The Awards mark a hugely important celebration of local enterprise in a thriving business community, from tech start-ups to larger companies. We would urge any growing or established businesses to consider the importance of these awards and the benefit of being recognised at such a prestigious event.
